2003 Halibut Derby Winner

2003 - $15,000.00 Valdez Halibut Derby Winner caught by Joe Prax of Valdez on Orion Charters with Captain Dave Wiley on June 22, 2003.  Halibut was 83" long and weighed 251.0# and had a 26" wide tail.  

Also landed that day were halibut of 184#/78" by
Russ Wiley and 160# shown below.
 

230.2# 81" Halibut caught by Dale Kaiser July 6, 2003  Weekly derby winner 4th place overall in 2003.

220.0# & 120# Halibut caught by Rick Maxwell June 2003         175.8#/74"  6/7/03

Sam Flurry with 189.0# Halibut June 8, 2003

Tim Washeleski's 218.2# Halibut July 27, 200. Weekly derby winner.

  A nice catch in early May 2003

A real nice catch 5/18/03.  When the tails hit the ground the fish are at least 60"/100# at this fish hang area.  It only took about 2 hours of fishing to land these fish.
